Although it may have never been my intention to run for Ohio Hills Folk Festival Queen, this title has changed my life. In the most unexpected of ways, being queen has helped me grow as a person. It has taught me to slow down and enjoy the little things, because they do not last forever. The importance of tradition, and the importance of passing on those traditions to the next generation. Being queen has pushed me out of my comfort zone; it gave me the courage to speak up in front of hundreds of people, and make lasting friendships. The Royalty and their lovely queens have been so welcoming and supportive. All of the fantastic, fun festivals I’ve been to has such amazing communities, it warms the heart. Finally, learning to love and embrace femininity to its fullest. Every single one of these wonderful and great things has happened to me through this once in a lifetime opportunity. So if given the chance to do something unexpected or different, seize the opportunity, because it might just be exactly what you’re looking for.
