Growing up, I always admired the festival royalty, however, I never imagined that one day I
would become one of them. So last year when my mom told me that people were asking if I
would be running for queen, I was completely shocked. I had no idea what to do or how any of
this royalty stuff worked. So I was even more shocked when my name was announced as the
new 2024-2025 OHFF Queen. Yet I have never been more glad that I tried out. This year has
been full of new experiences, friends, and travels. I always look forward to the weekends full of
early mornings, late nights, makeup, dresses, and fun. Before this year I would never have
dreamed of getting on stage in front of a crowd, let alone introducing myself and my festival. But
being queen has pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to grow into loving these
moments. I am grateful for all the people who have helped me become the person I am and
pushed me to do things I never would have otherwise done. I am proud to be the person
representing the Ohio Hills Folk Festival, and though my time as queen is coming to a close, I
still enjoy every moment of it.
